How are the Giants still winning & in first place with the lack of hitting and pitching?

Freddy Sanchez, before his shoulder injury was batting .289, Pablo Sandoval is now batting .303. And don't forget good pitching beats good hitting any day and the Giants have probably the best pitching staff, starters and the bullpen, in baseball.
