Does fox urine smell like skunk and burning rubber?

My dog and an area of our yard was sprayed last night and it smelled like skunk and burning rubber. It wasn't strong enough to be a skunk and it went away in 24 hrs. Could it have been a fox? Do they spray too? It washed right out of the dog no problem the next day. It wasn't so unbearable that we even needed to wash her that same night.
